Calls for Removal of Stephan Bodzin from DGTL India Lineup

Stephan Bodzin's confirmed appearance at the upcoming DGTL India 2026 has ignited a substantial debate on social media, raising concerns about the treatment of local artists in comparison to international headliners. The controversy revolves around a performance that Bodzin gave at Spacetech Halloween 2025 in Gurugram on October 31. Allegedly, Bodzin's set extended by 40 minutes beyond its scheduled time, prompting BLOT! to request an earlier switch over to facilitate his own performance. BLOT! claims that Bodzin's manager responded with aggression, telling him, "I’ll hit you," and insisting that international artists could take as long as they wished to perform. The manager reportedly took another 20 minutes to pack up Bodzin's equipment on stage, further escalating tensions.

This situation was reignited by entrepreneur Shuchir Soni, who posted a message on Instagram expressing his concerns about the lack of accountability regarding the incident, stating, “Nineteen years building this scene, and that is what he stood there and took.” He emphasized the absence of apologies or acknowledgment from Bodzin, his management, or any promoters, which has led to widespread criticism within the electronic music community.

In response, BLOT! reiterated on his own social media page that he is not personally distressed about not being booked for the DGTL festival. Instead, he hopes the situation can serve as a learning moment for the Indian music industry, fostering a more respectful environment for local artists. Furthermore, he cited the politicization in his past interactions with festival organizers, implying deeper systemic issues.
