The Crystal Method Celebrates 25 Years of 'Tweekend' with Vinyl Edition and Upcoming Tour

The Crystal Method's seminal 2001 album, Tweekend, has reached a significant milestone, celebrating its 25th anniversary. Recognized as one of the defining albums of American electronic music in the early 2000s, the milestone is commemorated with a new double-vinyl edition in a striking sunset-orange color. Released on July 24, this special edition features a remastered version of the album, alongside a collector’s CD and a TCM sticker, and is limited to just 3,000 individually numbered copies worldwide. This initiative has been made possible through a collaboration between TCM and Interscope, with fans also anticipating a remix package for the track 'Name of the Game' set to debut on Beatport on August 21.

Initially launched to critical acclaim in July 2001, Tweekend showcased collaborations with prominent artists such as Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine and the late Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, pushing The Crystal Method into a phase that blended breakbeat-heavy electronica with rock influences. Reflecting on the creative process, Scott Kirkland noted that their aim was to expand their musical reach while preserving the essence of their sound. The album's significant impact is further supported by 'Name of the Game,' which earned a nomination for the 2002 MTV Award for Breakthrough Video and has featured in numerous films and media since its release.

To further celebrate this momentous occasion, The Crystal Method will embark on the Mission Underground Tour alongside fellow legend Paul Oakenfold. This co-headlining tour will kick off on October 2 in Kansas City, hitting major cities including a Halloween show in New York and concluding in Las Vegas on November 7. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets as they go on sale, promising a series of unforgettable performances this fall.
